"Make sure to bring cash, as the restaurant is cash only. The food here was absolutely fantastic and definitely worth the stop. I had the rib tips with green beans and parsley and chives potatoes and it was divine. Meat juicy tender and finger licking good. My significant other has the brisket, baked beans and parsley and chives potatoes. He said it was some of the best brisket he's ever had. It was tender and delicious We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area. Also Kid Rock has been here and agrees!!! So delicious "

"Stopped by Smokey's to check it out, and we are glad we did! Delicious food! We got the Brisket, Ribtips & chives diced potatoes. (Sweet barbecue & Mild/Spicy sauce on the side) The meet was perfectly prepared, tender and juicy. The inside of Smokey's is small but very cozy, quaint and clean. The owners are friendly, nice and welcoming! Highly recommend stopping by to enjoy the delicious food and wall art!"

"Northwest Indiana's little hidden gem!!!! Open Wednesdays now too people! Some of the best bbq around!! Lovely little family owned resturant on 20, can order out or dine in, cozy campy atmosphere inside, staff is always smiling and pleasant, food is always amazing even when picked up and drove almost 20 minutes home lol. Have used them for open houses and weddings a few times....they sell sandwiches, dinners, and meat by the pound plus some amazing sides and homemade pies!!! Photos are the brisket dinner with the chive potatoes and green beans, the smokehouse combo with pulled pork and brisket with same side of potatoes and some chips, both came with a roll too, then there's a BBQ chicken breast that has a little kick to it seasoning wise you get to choose the sauce, and last but not least the blueberry pie which was amazing!! The BBQ sauces are delicious too they have sweet and then spicy so something for everyone and the sweet is sweet no kick at all for those anti-spicy people you'll be safe and happy with it."

"Smokey's Southern BBQ on RT20 near Beverly Shores. This venue has been on my wife and I's list for a number of years, and we were finally able to get to visit tonight. The restaurant inside is just fantastic, cozy and country. They are cash only establishment and order from the counter. Portions were adequate for the price. Overall satisfying and okay. Selection of sauces covered the bases, my favorite was the original with the sweet coming in a close second."

"Make sure you bring cash! We were here on 9/4/2025 around lunch time. I ordered the brisket sandwich with the potatoes for my side. My mom ordered the same but with coleslaw and my Aunt ordered the rib tips with green beans. There were 4 different sauces on the table. A mild vinegar base, a hot vinegar base, a spicy mustard sauce and a sweet sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the food was good. All the sauces were also good. The brisket was tender and had a good flavor. The rib tips were very good and paired well with the mustard sauce. If you're passing by on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday give this place a try."
